UNIPEL 101

 

 

UNIPEL 101 is a thermosetting water repellent and fluorochemical extender in emulsion form.  UNIPEL 101 can be applied alone to give soft durable water repellent finishes or in conjunction with reactive resins to give, in addition to water repellency, crease and shrink resistance.

 

UNIPEL 101 is also an extender for fluorochemical water and oil repellents and is compatible with most cationic and nonionic substances.

APPLICATION:

 

Fabrics to be finished with UNIPEL 101 should be properly prepared so as to contain no residual wetting agents or other chemicals that would promote rewetting of the finished goods.  When used solely as a water repellent, UNIPEL 101 pad bath concentrations should normally be in the range of 5-14%; the exact concentration depending on the specific performance required.  Treated fabrics should be dried and cured for approximately 1 min. @ 330F for maximum durability to washing and dry cleaning.

 

When used in conjunction with durable press resins, pad baths should contain a catalyst such as magnesium chloride and the fabrics cured according to the recommendations given for the particular resin used.

 

When used as a fluorochemical extender, UNIPEL 101 is normally applied in the range of 2-5% and for maximum durability, a reactive resin is recommended.
